There are so many toothpaste applications that go far beyond just keeping your teeth clean and shiny. Here are some of the best toothpaste hacks to make your home shine!
I love a good hack, don't I? I always knew that the use of toothpaste goes beyond what it was marketed for. The extent of my experiments with toothpaste, however, was to occasionally dab outbreaks. By the way, it really works!
You can imagine my surprise when I chatted with a friend about FaceTime. I saw her sprinkle toothpaste on her jewelry. But she swore that nothing made her silver jewelry sparkle like toothpaste – and it turned out that she was right.
17 Use for toothpaste
It turns out that a simple tube of toothpaste is a miracle for your home! I had a lot of fun (and a few strange looks) experimenting with toothpaste this week – and had to share my findings!
Here are 17 ways to use toothpaste that you haven't thought of before.
What type of toothpaste should I use for these hacks?
Before you start trying out these toothpaste hacks, make sure you have the right type of toothpaste. You need the non-gel type. Just take the simple, inexpensive white paste. Make sure you get the mint flavor too – you'll see why below.
Now for the toothpaste hacks! 🙂

This hack really does Job. A pea-sized amount is all you need – just use a soft microfiber cloth to polish it once you've applied it to your jewelry.
# 2 shine silver
You can also use toothpaste to shine silver. If you have family heirlooms that look a bit boring or tarnished, toothpaste is for you! Just dab it on and polish it out. For larger pieces, it is easiest to work in small sections at the same time.

Being bitten by mosquitoes is the worst! If you get these itchy streaks like me, there is an easy solution to soothe your skin and provide pain relief … you guessed it – toothpaste! Dab a small amount and feel the pain go away.
# 4 Get rid of water rings
Do you have a wooden table with a few water rings or stains? The same applies here. This is one of the toothpaste applications that surprised me the most – it really worked!
Here is the table with a water stain in front …
Just take your toothpaste and dab a clean rag. Then rub the water ring. You want to scrub carefully in the direction of the wood grain.
Once the area is covered, let it dry. To remove residues, use wood polish afterwards. See, everything is gone!
By the way, you can too Use coconut oil to restore wood – here's how!
# 5 Hang up a picture frame
Hanging a picture frame can be a surprisingly annoying task. The easiest way to do this is to put a dab of toothpaste on the hanging parts attached to the photo and then hold it to the wall where you want it to be. Push the photo into the wall and the toothpaste marks where your nail needs to go! This is one of my favorite toothpaste applications … it's that easy!
# 6 hide holes
You can also use toothpaste if you want to take photos and cover these holes. Take a swab of toothpaste and fill the holes with it. Once it's dry, you can paint over it and no one will see the difference!
# 7 clean glass
Here is one of the most famous uses of toothpaste … clean glass! Just take a swab of toothpaste and put it in a soft cloth. Polish the glass and then rinse! In my opinion, this works best for smaller pieces of glass. If you want to tackle your windows, Try one of these window cleaning hacks!
# 8 Repair scratches in glass
Toothpaste not only cleans your glass, but can also help repair small scratches in the glass! This works very well on devices with glass screens like an iPad or smartphone.

# 10 Clean and update your sink
If your kids put a ton of toothpaste in the sink, that's fine. You can actually use all of this extra toothpaste to give the sink a good scrub! Not only does it make the most of a potentially wasteful product, it is also an efficient toothpaste hack!
# 11 Get the smell of garlic from your hands
Anyone who has cooked with garlic knows that it's hard to beat the freshly chopped version. A big disadvantage, however, was how stinky your hands become hours after that! Until now – thanks to this clever toothpaste hack. Squeeze some toothpaste into the palm of your hand, then rub it over both hands. Rinse and wash with normal soap and water.
Incidentally, this also works well for onions.
# 12 Clean a flat iron or iron
My hair straightener is used quite often. As much as I try to keep it clean, there are often dark spots on the side. As strange as it sounds, toothpaste will clean it up right away – I tried it myself!
Look at the plates below – you can see that the top has dark spots. The floor looked exactly the same before I rubbed toothpaste on it, but as you can see it is now beautiful and shiny!
This is definitely a toothpaste hack that I'm going to use – it worked so well and only took a few minutes. You can do the same for your iron.
# 13 Make your mirrors shine
Yes, another of my favorite household toothpastes is glass cleaning. In my opinion this is the most effective for smaller mirrors, but it also works for larger ones!
# 14 Clean your shoes
If your tennis shoes look less than excellent, clean them quickly with toothpaste! For this toothpaste hack, you need an old toothbrush or something with bristles to remove and remove the dirt.
In the photo below, I made half of the shoe while the other half was left in its original condition – definitely a difference!
# 15 Get rid of the sour milk smell in bottles
Ugh, is there anything worse than stumbling to your closet in the middle of the night to make a baby bottle just to see that they stink? Every mother knows that rotten sour milk smells and how difficult it is to remove it.
So far it has been so. Simply add some toothpaste, scrub it around and let it rest for a few minutes. Rinse, then wash with soap and water – no more sour milk smell!
